We at the Corvus Watch Company have worked closely with the engineers at
the most advanced aerospace coating lab in Indiana to perfect the
application of this unique coating to our watch dials. Satellite Black
is applied to our dials right here in the U.S.A., and the process is
exclusive to our watches.
Finding pure black is actually very difficult. Many black paints and
coatings, while attractive, are actually fairly reflective of light. The
blacker the dial, the more the luminous markers show up in contrast,
especially in daylight. We at Corvus experimented with many of the most
advanced black coatings. Only Satellite BlackTM provided the necessary
combination of ultra-black non-reflectivity and toughness.
